  Support groups are small groups of people interested in the support of others who are facing similar challenges. The groups are structured around the topic, led by trained facilitators, and are a great resource for building relationships while growing through life’s challenges.

Making Peace With Your Past
Understanding how self-concept, view of God, and relationships with others are influenced by the past and primary role models Begins Thursday, February 1 , 7:00 p.m., Room W 206.

Boundaries for Singles
Discovering and changing relationship patterns which result in hurt and anger. Begins Thursday, February 1, 7:00 p.m., Room W210.

Safe People

Marriage at the Crossroads

Divorce Care
A supportive group for those experiencing the pain of separation and the process of divorce. Begins Thursday, February 1, 7:00 pm, Rm. W214.

Divorce Recovery
A recovery process for those rebuilding their lives after a divorce.  Begins Thursday, February 1, 7:00 pm, Rm. W218.

First Place
A 12 -week weight loss program that offers spiritual, mental, emotional and physical transormation. Call for next mandatory orientation meetings and group start dates. For more information contact the Lake Pointe Family and Personal Enrichment Office at 469-698-2250.

Cancer Support (Monthly)
For those diagnosed with cancer to receive encouragement, education, resources, and hear special speakers.  Meets the first Sunday of each month 5:00 pm, Rm. A145.

KidShare
Divorce recovery for children ages 8-10.  Begins Thursday, February 1, 7:00 pm in Rm. W222.   *Phone interview with parent required.

Making Wise Choices
For children ages 8-10. This group will use Christian based curriculum to guide children in making wise choices. Begins Thursday, February 1, 7:00 p.m., Rm. W221.

Boys Mentoring
Christian men with teens ages 11-17 in a fun-filled and meaningful relationship.  Begins Thursday, February 1, 7:00 p.m. Rm. W 102.       *Pre registration required.   

Girls Mentoring
Christian women with teens ages 11-17 in a fun-filled and meaningful relationship. Begins Thursday, February 1, 7:00 p.m. Rm. W 202.   *Pre registration required.

Materials are available for purchase for all groups at the first meeting.

Traditional 12-step open group for family and friends of alcoholics.  Ongoing, Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:00 noon, Rm. A145.

Post Abortion Recovery

Sexual Abuse Recovery
Recovering from the losses of sexual abuse through support and Biblical solutions to wholeness.  Please call 469.698.2250  for the next start date.

Professional Christian Counseling
When facing life’s deeper and more difficult issues, the Bible recommends that we seek wise counsel.  Lake Pointe meets this need by providing onsite, Christ-centered professional counseling.  Both male and female counselors are available.  Fees are low compared to comparable services in our community.  For further information or to make an appointment, call 469.698.2250.

Stephen Ministry
The Stephen Ministry is a one-on-one care giving ministry.  Trained, caring believers reach out to support those facing a tough time by listening and prayer.  For a confidential conversation, call Lance Bedford at 214.246.3443 (pager).

Marriages That Last
Presented two times a year, this four-hour seminar is for married and pre-married couples.  Presenters include Pastor Steve Stroope and Gary Shepherd, Director of New Hope Financial Fitness.  The next seminar is March 31.  Cost is $30 per couple which includes breakfast, a seminar manual and child care.  Call 469.698.2250 for more information.
